An F-16 shot down the object, according to a news release from the Department of Defense.
Part of the reason for the repeated shootdown is a "heightened alert" following a spy balloon from China that emerged over U.S. airspace in late January, Gen. Glen VanHerck, head of NORAD, and U.S. Nothern Command, said in a briefing with reporters.
Since then, fighter jets also shot down objects over Canada and Alaska.

物体は高度およそ２万フィート、およそ６０００メートルを飛行し、民間の航空機の飛行に危険を及ぼす恐れがあったということで、バイデン大統領の指示で撃墜が行われたとしてます。
アメリカ軍は撃墜した飛行物体についｔｄ、アメリカ本土に対する軍事的な脅威とは見なしていないとした一方で、情報収集の能力を持っていた可能性があるとしています。

Search-and recue efforts are underway in quake-stricken areas as many people are believed to be still
trapped under collapsed buildings.
Rescue squads from Japan and other countries have been scouring debris for survivors in Kahramanmaras, one of the hardest-hit cities in southern Turkey.
